Journey through space
The first painting was created in 2019 as an experiment with 3D painting. After a longer pause, the rest of the paintings were created during 2021 and early 2022. I called this body of work Journey through the Universe. Cosmic abstractions depicting the pulsating parts of the universe. Ours or someone else's? Other dimensions, stars, planets, births and deaths. All this spectacular action, captured by the imagination of the artist.
This is a painting in acrylic, brushes, spray and acrylic markers on wooden panels using structuring pastes. Although the structuring pastes added a certain plasticity to the paintings, it was not enough for me, I wanted to push the plasticity a little further. My intention was that there should be a certain mystery hidden in the paintings, that the plasticity should be even different. I bought 3D glasses that allowed me to see the work in a completely different way. The magical thing is that not all types of 3D glasses work on my paintings. It was important not to break up the painting by splitting the colors as we know with movies or classic 3D images. The essential thing for me was to make the painting look like a classic abstract painting enhanced with texture. If you put on the 3D glasses, the images deepen without you expecting it and reveal their hidden magic.
ATTENTION Only American paper optis 3D glasses - ChromaDept 3D must be used for these paintings.
With other 3D glasses, the spatial effect may not be apparent.
