Grey Zone
My paintings in this section can be classified partly in the genre of fantasy and surrealism. In the style of representation, some have compared my work to the surrealist painter H. R. Giger, who used the Airbrush technique (and is the father of Alien). Our love of the surreal and biomechanics are indeed the same.
But it is clear to the perceptive viewer that our works are quite different. In some of the paintings you will also find a reflection of today's themes and problems that society is dealing with. Here you will find the painting Covid Mother and others. I have been working with the Airbrush technique since about 2004. I didn't know much about it at the time, but I decided to use the technique to paint my entire thesis. Today my skills are completely different and it's mainly the tools and modern paint. During the covid period I dusted off the airbrush guns and compressor again and returned to this technique that I had neglected for a long time. For those who don't know, Airbrush is a technique where you paint a picture by applying paint using a small spray gun. As the literal translation itself says, it's an airbrush.
